In the mid 1800s, shortly after being established in one of the world’s most fertile valleys, Albany quickly became a booming center of culture and commerce. Strategically located on the Willamette River, all major trade routes seemed to pass through this growing town whether railroads, steam boats, or horse‑drawn carriages; Albany became the center of activity on the West Coast from Seattle to Sacramento. Because of its prosperity and influence, the vibrant city was known for many years as “Hub City.”
Today, a lot has changed. A mere shadow of what she once was, Albany has fallen from her former glory. Recently making national headlines as one of our nation’s capitols for methamphetamine production and distribution, Albany is broken and hurting, in desperate need of restoration. Yet, Albany is still a beautiful city, full of potential for God’s Kingdom to move. While many people in Albany have lost hope, God has not given up on this city and neither will we. We believe that God wants to bring new life to Albany, restoring it once again as a center of influence and hope through a powerful movement of the gospel.
Jesus is the only hope for Albany, and He has called us to partner with him in the kingdom‑work that this city so desperately needs. We are fulfilling our calling by planting a church to make disciples and transform communities. We believe that through Jesus, we can once again see Albany become a “Hub City,” from which the good news of the gospel goes forth, bringing blessing to our city, region, and the world as we partner with Jesus and his Global Church in God’s great mission. I’m excited to introduce you to a new work of the gospel in Albany, Oregon: Hub City Church, joining Jesus in his mission to Restore all things in Albany, Oregon.
